LIQUID LEVEL SENSORS
- Single and multi-point sensors and 4-20 mA level transmitters
- Side mounted level switches and external chamber level switches
- Flood level switches and units for marine applications
- Hazardous area approvals
Stainless, Hastelloy, Titanium, and Plastics, etc.
Level Sensors
Vertical float switches, Horizontal float switches
Operating Principle
A permanent magnet set in a float rises and falls on a guide tube containing a series of tiny magnetically operated reed switches. Reed switch and resistor pairs form part of a resistance chain which allows a continuous output to be generated that is proportional to the float and liquid level. Various levels of resolution are available down to 5 mm dependent on application. Versions operating on a magnetostrictive principle are capable of resolutions down to 1mm.
Application
Suitable for almost all liquids. Constant display of filling level regardless of foam, varying dielectric, conductivity, pressure or temperature.
Special designs are capable of liquid interface measurement.
Temperature
-148oF to +482oF (-100oC to +250oC)
Pressure
Vacuum to 580 psi (4 MPa). Higher pressures possible with special designs.
Materials
Stainless steel, brass, titanium, Tantalum, Hastelloy, PVC, polypropylene, PVDF, PTFE and E-CTFE coatings.
Output
Continuous analog output via a suitable Kuebler control unit with output proportional to liquid level and binary limit switching to trigger alarms etc.
Configurations
Flange or thread mounting. Top or bottom entry. External case designs are also available. Guide tube lengths to 12m in one piece construction, or up to 25m in sections. Food industry designs available.
